I tried to hold myself back for as long as I could and that lasted 2 hours. Week three is over!
I've got a busy weekend ahead of me though. Got a four page typed paper to write about a heart or blood condition. I picked HIV/AIDS. There's tons of good info out there so it should be easy to find enough stuff to write about. I've also got to do a poster for a disease that's caused by a nutritional deficiency. I picked Scurvy.
Ten points to whomever can tell me what that disease is and NO GOOGLING IT!
Did very well on my tests this week. I'm carrying a 4.0 so far this semester. My nickname is OA for over achiever. If I thought they meant it, I would be upset. I do have another nickname. Staples...cause I have pens, pencils, rubber bands, folders, paper, etc. They tease me that I'm a walking Staples store.
I've been wearing wrist braces for carpel tunnel and they've helped a lot. I still have to be careful not to type too much or my fingers and hands will start to burn and throb.
The kids are in Vegas with my parents this week. I'll miss them terribly over the weekend but the house will be quiet so I can get my stuff done. Sashi, you should take a trip to Vegas and find them. I'm sure my mom would LOVE you!! XD

Scurvy, which we probably both saw on House, is vitamin C deficiency. British sailors used take limes with them on long boat trips to prevent scurvy, and that's why they're called limeys.

And carpel tunnel sucks! I have it and sometimes have to wear the brace. Thank God I haven't had to wear it in a long time, though.
HIV- Human Immunodeficiency Virus attacks the immune system. HIV invades and destroys certain white blood cells called CD4+ cells. If too many CD4+ cells are destroyed, the body can no longer defend itself against infection. So it really isn't HIV that kills the person, but other Illness or Infections that does.
Also you hav have HIV without having AIDS, AIDS can be triggered 10 to 12 years (give or take) because the HIV is slowly killing the CD4+ cells. There is no cure for HIV, but they do have a therepy treatment call Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy or HAART, which can slow down the process of HIV spreading and killing your CD4+ Cells. How to get it? Blood and/ or Sex.
AIDS- Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, this is the last stage of HIV and results towards death. This can not be stopped, the infection has grown and you would have a low CD4+ cell count, more people in this stage doesn't just die from AIDS but from other illness such as Bronchitis or even a common cold.
Scurvy- Is the deficiency of vitamin C, which is required for the synthesis of collagen in us.

Im not sure what is to come so for now I live in my dreams.
I miss you! I've been so busy with school and I've been working my butt off but I'm hoping to come and visit you all at PSB sometime in October.
Next semester I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology 2, Practical Coding and Keyboarding & Word.
Just finished up the digestive system and moving on to the cardiovascular system and respiratory system. I finish my first semester 8-18. Our semesters are really short, only 5 weeks.
